Cyclocross is the sport of mountain biking in the winter and over obstacles. Cyclocross biking is more challenging, keeps you in shape for summer biking, and is far better than sitting indoors. This site intends to bring people together and provide information about the sport. Please send contributions to admin@cyclocross.com |

![]() The Cyclocross Race CourseThe course, according to rules, must be at least 90% ridable. The course will typically be less than two miles. The entrants will compete for either two hours (advanced) or less than one hour (beginner or intermediate). The races are fun to watch. They are fast paced. It is also much more fun to see people overcome the obstacles than to simply ride flatly. Since the sport started in Europe, it is more popular over there. Belgium has the largest and most sought after cyclocross races. Thousands of visitors go to Belgium every year to watch the races and they are also televised. There is no international race like the Tour de France for cyclocross. In the United States, the most prestigious races are the National Cyclocross Championships. This year (2009) Bend, Oregon will host the races on December 10-13th.
